Beauty and the Beast

Jerm's sister Lyndsay invited Sadie and I to her middle school students' production of Beauty and the Beast. Lyndsay was super busy that day but she was able to sit with us for most of it. Sadie loved her light up rose. And she did awesome for exactly one hour and ten minutes. She was clapping when everyone would clap and was dancing in the aisle when there was singing and dancing. I took her out to change her diaper and she didn't want to go back in, she wanted to run around Jackson High School. I can't say that I blame her, that was the nicest high school I have ever been to. Sadie thought Belle and her cousin Abby were both pretty. Children were encouraged to come dressed up. We don't have anything princess-like. But I put a dress on her. Sadie loves dresses!

Fun with Dad

Ohio Winter

Thank goodness this winter has been mild or else I would be in trouble. Between changing jobs and graduate school clinicals I am driving all the time. I am doing clinical instruction for Kent State Geauga campus up in Chardon at UH 2xweek. I follow my preceptor to the Sandusky VA once a week and Murtis Taylor in downtown Cleveland once a week. Thanks goodness for clinical instruction at Kent State main campus, my students are at St Thomas once a week and for my stark state students, they are at Barberton once a week. I crashed my car in the bad weather one morning on my way to work at St Thomas and was rescued on the side of the road by my boss from geropsych. I was running late that day and so I had wet hair and no gloves or hat or boots. I was freezing and my boss was driving by and stopped. She invited me to wait in her gloriously warm SUV until the police had got there and the tow truck and towed away my car and then she drove me to work. Words cannot express how grateful I was for her kindness. My co-worker drove me home and when I got home Jerm and Sadie had made this card for me. I felt pretty lucky. Lucky to have escaped unharmed, lucky Sadie wasn't in the car when it happened, lucky my boss was driving by, lucky that my coworker was willing to drive me home so Jerm didn't have to take Sadie out in the weather, lucky that my husband was so thoughtful. I got my car back 2 weeks later. I still get nervous in bad weather, (I blame driving exactly one mile from my driveway to the parking deck at Barberton for 6 years spoiled me) and I would rather not drive in it all but I have lucked out this winter, there has not been that many bad days! I must admit I asked Jerm if we could move to warmer weather. Hahaha.

Pump it up!

We took Sadie to pop up playtime at Pump it up in Hartville. Pop it up playtime is free time (you don't have to be attending a birthday party). They just have large rooms with all kinds of inflatables to jump on or in or down. I couldn't believe it Sadie went down the huge slide, and you have to go by yourself you can't go with an adult. She looked terrified coming down the slide, when she got to the bottom she smiled and said more with her signing more. So Jerm took her up the slide again and when she got to the top she started giggling and went down it again. The third time I took her up she did not want to go down again. You have to be 34 inches tall to jump/play there. Sadie had just gone to her 18 month check up the day before and she was 33.5 inches. Close enough! We can't wait to go back. Thanks Jenny and Rachel for letting us know about this place!

Collin & Sadie at the Children's Museum of Cleveland

So on Christmas break we met Jenny Rachel and Collin up at the Children's Museum of Cleveland. They have a sand exhibit that you dig for buried treasure. There is something like 70 tons of sand in this room. I don't have any pictures of the sand exhibit, my camera died but I am sure we will go back before they take it down we are now members of the museum. Collin and Sadie had fun! They are getting so big!

Village of Sadie

So on Black Friday, Jeremy's mom, sister Lyndsay and stepdad waited in line at Toys R Us for the cottage and climber/slide. The pictures are Sadie and Jeremy coloring and playing in the boxes. My Aunt Melanie and her family gave Sadie the play kitchen and the village of Sadie was created in our former family room. Who needs a family room when you can have a village? Thanks to Megan and Mark for the cottage and to My Aunt's Melanie, Uncle Jim, James, and Hannah for the "top of the climber/slide", and to mamma and daddy for the bottom of the climber/slide, (Sadie likes the top half more).

Pajama New Year's Eve

So I don't have any pictures but I had to post about New Year's Eve. We went to out neighbors the Hanlins (they won't be our neighbors for long, sniff sniff) for a pajama party. The adults played Cranium. And the kids (girls) colored a princess castle. I told Jeremy that we would stay until Sadie started to get tired. Well that didn't happen until after midnight. She stayed up like a trooper. No meltdowns, nothing. We watched the ball drop and headed home. Did I mention she slept in until 11am the next morning?

Six Christmases

So Sadie had 6 Christmases this year. I forgot to take pictures at Jeremy's family's Christmas eve celebration, Jerm had to work so Sadie and I went. I also never took any pictures Christmas morning at our house. But I did remember the camera at Jeremy's mom's house. Sadie ouuhhhed and ahhhhhhhed at opening every gift. Great facial expressions! Her favorite part throwing away all of the wrapping paper. She must have made 100 trips to the trashcan. She fell asleep and woke up at Jeremy's Dad's house and had enough of Christmas. She didn't want to open any presents or throw away any wrapping paper. She eventually sat in the chair they got her. The next day we had friends over for brunch. Sadie and Collin opened their presents together. Sadie got her first kiss. It was from Collin. Sadie sat down next to Collin and patted him on the shoulder and said "Hi", Collin leaned over and kissed her right on the lips! Then we drove to my aunt's house and opened presents there. Hannah read to Sadie from her present a Kindle. We still have to take down our Christmas tree, maybe today, I could take some pictures of Sadie by it and pretend those were on Christmas morning!

Holiday Winter Festival

The week before Christmas we met Jerm's sister's family and Jerm's neice down in New Philadelphia at their town's annual winter festival. All of the events are free, including hot dogs, hot chocolate and cookies. There is a live nativity scene, all kinds of animals including reindeer, pony rides, (Sadie loved riding the ponies), horse drawn carriage rides, and carousel rides. The ice carving was really neat! We parked at Jerm's co-workers house next to the park and it was a great time. We didn't do any of the indoor stuff, but inside there was a Mrs & Mr Claus and cookie decorating along with a craft. We went last year too and plan on attending next year.

So my cousin Jesse just got married on Saturday. We drove in to my aunt Rita's on Friday (my birthday) and had dinner there. Jeremy and I went to the movies and Sadie stayed at the ranch. It was a great date! On Saturday, we had a relaxing morning and actually were on time (early even) to the wedding. Sarah looked stunning. Her dress was so pretty. I thought Sadie looked pretty cute too! It was really good to see my cousins! Sadie busted a move on the dance floor, she didn't mind being the only one out there at times. And the food was delicious. The cake frosting tasted like sweet sweet butter. Out of this world. We really need to get a better camera, the pictures more than a few feet away were blurry. So none at the church turned out. We drove home with a step two play kitchen and tons of play food to go with it from my aunt Melanie. It was a great week-end!

Christmas Break

Christmas break just officially started for me an hour ago, after I finished my last final! It is official I only have one more semester to go! In other news, Kent State University just hired me to teach their psych clinicals spring semester. I am still trying to work something out with Stark State and my school schedule to continue teaching for them. But I must admit I am excited about being employed by my alma mater. Busy Busy.

Cookie Decorating Party

Jenny and Rachel had a kids cookie decorating party over the week-end. The little kids were so cute in their kid sized aprons. Sadie didn't spend much time decorating her cookie. She mostly just ate the M&Ms and the gummy bears, oh and the frosting off of the spoon. I ended up eating her cookie. It was a great time! I can't wait to get the kids together over break for a playdate!

Sadie Meet Santa, Santa this is Sadie

We have been reading all of her Christmas books lately but nothing could compare to meeting Santa. We thought it would be best for Sadie to warm up to the idea of Santa so we went to Gervasi Winery for lunch and Santa was there walking around meeting all of the kids. Sadie loved him from a far, Sadie loved him up close. Sadie did not like when he went behind her and she could no longer see him (see Sadie cry). He had to come back later on so we could get a picture (he came up behind us Sadie didn't even know he was there). Gervasi did a really nice job, they had a kids menu and the Santa was really good!

Chritmas Tree Hunting & Decoration

We went to pick out our Christmas tree, I think it was two week-ends ago. We went to the same place we got our pumpkins. So of course Sadie spotted the cat. She loved running around and around all of the trees. They even let her pick out a free ornament. It was a really nice day out, not too cold. We bought some eggnog and headed home, to decorate. Of course when you decorate a Christmas tree you have to be listening to Christmas music. Our dogs destroyed the tree skirt last year and I forgot and didn't buy one to replace it. We still need to buy a tree skirt and then the tree will be perfect to sit in the dark and look at the Christmas lights (that is my favorite thing to do with a cup of cocoa). This year the Christmas tree is free from dog destruction (not Sadie destruction) via baby gates. We use the baby gates more to block the dogs then to block Sadie.

Sadie had a great time riding her four wheeler, playing in the hay, and coloring with cousins at Thanksgiving! My aunt Rita's driveway is perfect for Sadie to ride her four wheeler! And Sadie loves Hannah. Sadie loves James too but he told me not to take his picture. The Thanksgiving food is always delicious. My favorite this year was my aunt Rita's cranberry salad. The day would have been perfect if Jerm didn't have to work. But Sadie called him on the phone.

North Carolina

My dad dropped us off at the Orlando airport and we were on our way to a condo in the mountains near Asheville North Carolina. Well almost on our way. We were waiting to board our flight and little miss Sadie who's favorite thing to do now is to push elevator buttons went to push the elevator button. Only the airport elevator button was taller than the cruise elevator buttons. Sadie stood on her tip toes and before I knew it lost her balance and fell back on the tile floor and with a crunch hit her head. I picked her up and no sooner had I got back to the gate she began to vomit. All over me. I went into shock being covered from head to toe in airport food vomit. Once we got her and I cleaned up I really started to worry. She was so pale and pathetic looking. I knew I didn't want to take her up in an airplane until she was cleared by a doctor. I think I will start carrying a pen light in the diaper bag. For those of you that got that neuro check reference who I am kidding I wouldn't have been able to do an accurate check. I was rattled. So as I sought out the airport clinic for advice (all the way on the other side of the Orlando huge airport in Jeremy's clothes we officially missed our flight). The airport doctor said "She is too young to clear for flight until she gets a CT of the head". A very expensive cab ride later and we arrived at the Arnold Palmer Hospital for children. Several hours later Sadie was cleared for flight. I hope she wasn't traumatized after being strapped down to the CT table. Sadie is def a mama's girl and that began her stage of if she doesn't like what one parent is doing she calls out for the other. She was yelling dadda so loud I am surprised Jerm didn't hear her and come running. On a side note the CT results showed she had an ear infection. I am so glad we got that treated (sarcasm).

Onward to North Carolina. We arrived in the middle of the night. My aunt was awake to greet us. Actually we got lost and called her. My aunt Rita and Uncle Keith had rented the cabin and invited us down. The mountains were beautiful. We even went to a nearby waterfall. I spent most of my time catching up on homework there was internet at the recreation center, along with an indoor pool, a gym, and an arcade. The highlight of Sadie's trip Squirrel Hunting. I was gone for the afternoon working on homework, I come back to find Sadie placing carmel corn on the porch of the condo deck and then yelling SQUIRRELS. Plain as day. Very funny. She hunted squirrels the rest of the trip. And of course she was spoiled. She got to take her afternoon nap every day being pushed around in the stroller by my aunt. Oh and the picture of the steps at the waterfall. She insisted that she climb them. She almost made all 120 steps before being asking to be picked up.

Castaway Cay

Disney's private island was def our favorite port of call. It was like the quintessesntial tropical paradise. If we ever do a disney cruise again we would do the cruise that just goes to Castaway Cay. It was beautiful! Sadie loved "spring a leak" their fountain zone for little kids, and playing with grandpa in the sand. Jerm and I went parasailing. I had never been parasailing before, I am not sure if Jeremy has ever been parasailing (for fun, and you pay for it), he has jumped out of airplanes for his job. But the entire day was really just perfect!

Jerm Turns 30

We started planning this vacation to celebrate Jerm's 30th birthday. He turned the big 3 0 half way through the cruise. We celebrated by going to Palo, Disney's exclusive restaurant on the ship the night before (it was the only time I could get a reservation). It was a grand experience. On his actual birthday he was given a special dessert and sung to by crew members. He doesn't look any older. And says he doesn't feel any older.

St Maarten

We visited the french and dutch sides of St Maarten. Did some shopping, rode a water taxi, and swam at the world's most dangerous beach, Maho beach, where airplanes fly close overhead. Oh and Jerm and I tried the Guavaberry colada, that is the drink to drink there!

Trick or Treat on the Ship

So Sadie was Tinkerbell for the Halloween party on the ship. And I didn't have time to get costumes for Jerm and I before we left. So on the way to the boat from the hotel by the airport we stopped at a Halloween store and Walmart. I bought 3 green adult fairy wings and a package of name tags and some markers. I am not sure how I talked my dad and Jerm into wearing them but the end result.....A family of Fairies! Tinkerbell, Tinkerbell's mom, Tinkerbell's dad, and Tinkerbell's grandpa. I thought we looked great!!!!

Sadie didn't say trick or treat but ended up with a bag full of candy anyway! She must have spent hours looking through her bag of candy. Pulling it all out and putting it back in. I couldn't believe how long she stayed focused on it. And then she had to carry it around everywhere she went the rest of the day.

How cute is this? Sadie not a fan of formal cruise dining....but loved anytime a Disney character would appear. And the micky mouse ice cream bars, yummy. They were only on the kids menu...I ordered one for Sadie every night. And of course I had to help her eat it!

Welcome Aboard Deck Party

Who knew a 16 month old would love a cruise so much? Or rather she loved who was on the cruise. Minnie, Micky, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck were her favorites. But she would also get super excited to see any of the other ones. And she loved getting to see my dad everyday. She loved getting to knock on his door to get him for meals and other events. She would knock and then when he would open the door she would wave hello and say Hiiiiiiiii. Sadie's other favorite things on the cruise; getting to push the elevator button around 10-20 times a day, the splash zone with water sprinklers, unlimited amounts of grapes and strawberries, exploring the ship, the disney live shows every night and the big screen by the pool that played movies. Jerm loved the movie theatre that played new releases and when Sadie and I would take naps or when we went to bed he would go watch movies. We even took Sadie to a movie, she slept the entire time. My favorite experience on the boat was dining at Palo their exclusive restaurant for Jerm's 30th birthday. The best chocolate souffle I have ever tasted! Oh and the fireworks were awesome. Sadie surprisingly enjoyed them as well.

Flying to Orlando

We came armed with coloring books and crayons, and our own Minnie mouse from home (so we wouldn't have to buy one there). Gotta love a direct flight from Akron-Canton to Orlando! Sadie had to shut all of the window shades, including the shades of the people in front of us and behind us. Thankfully she lost interest in that game and the people could open their shades back up.

Disney Cruise

Here are the professional pictures we bought. There are only 2. I will post the pictures and some video we took on our own when I have time. We had an amazing time! Sadie's favorite word now....Minnie. Can I just say the Minnie Mouse picture is a victory for mom, I tried so hard to have Sadie wear cute hair clips or bows or headbands this entire trip. This was one of the few successful attempts. She was so smitten with Minnie that she didn't even know I had put it on. As soon as Minnie was out of sight, off came the headband.

Graduation Application

I officially applied for Graduation over the week-end! The end is in sight. They started accepting applications online on Saturday. I think I was one of the first applications. Hahaha. I am overeager. Graduation is May of next year 2012. It will have taken me four years going part-time to complete this degree. So one more semester to go after this one is over.

Halloween Party

Sadie and her daycare friends at their Halloween party. Too cute! I didn't dress Sadie in her Halloween costume, I just put her in a cute candy corn Halloween dress. We were leaving for the cruise the next day and Disney does a trick-or treat on the boat. I had all ready packed her Tinkerbell costume! I think she is holding up part of her dress, because I didn't put any wings on her.

Hendrickson's Chili Cook-off

So Saturday was the Hendrickson's chili cook-off. I have never made chili, so I just made a chili dip with sour cream, shredded cheese, and onions that you could dip corn bread in. Mark aka Dude won second place with his pumpkin corn turkey chili. Yum. I voted for him. He even brought the leftovers to my open house. There was a Pumpkin cake made out of like 70 cupcakes. Awesome! I stole a picture of it off of Jenny's facebook page. I forgot my camera. I wish Jenny or Rachel would have posted pics of Sadie and Collin in the bouncy house. Sadie loved that thing. She loved to wipe out. I will stalk their facebook page until they post the pictures, then steal them and post them! It was really nice weather and a great party! Sadie loved playing in Collin's new awesome playroom in their finished basement. That is a child's dream. Thanks for having us Jenny and Rachel!

Boo at the Zoo

This was our first year at Boo at the Akron Zoo. I was really impressed! The treats were yummy, Sadie shared with mom and dad. We went to Boo at the Zoo after my open house on Sunday. The weather was perfect! And everyone else thought so too. Because the zoo was packed. I have never seen it soo busy. The line was super long. Thanks Hanlins for letting me "join you" in line, aka cut. Jerm wouldn't cut with me, so I bought the tickets and met him in the line (which was no line) if you had pre purchased your tickets from Acme. Note to self buy the tickets from Acme next year, you save a dollar and skip the line. There were lines at all of the candy trick or treat stations which was kinda of a pain, and made a long day for Sadie. She only got a 15 minute nap on the way to the zoo and she is getting more teeth so she was a mess, and good parents prob wouldn't have taken her to the zoo. Oh well, she looked cute in her cow costume and her favorite treat a Little Debbie oatmeal cream pie. A classic! She wouldn't moo at anybody and she wouldn't leave her cow ears/headpiece on, but she made a good cow. Jerm wore the ears. Here is a disgusting thought written down. Sadie was eating strawberries and got red strawberry juice all down the front of her...Lets just say she looked like she had visited a butcher. Disturbing yes, but grossly funny. On a more pleasant note, Alison Hanlin is Sadie's mini mom. I think that child loves Sadie has much as I do.

Open House

I had a fall themed open house over the weekend, where friends and family could come shop from friends and family. Jerm's sister Lyndsay was there selling Pampered Chef, Sarah (my family knows her as the nurse that delivered Sadie) but also Jerm's friends from high school was selling Creative Memories, my co-worker Dawn was selling Thirty-One. And my dad's friend from grade school's wife was selling Lia Sophia jewelry. It was a beautiful day outside! And there was some delicious food inside. Thanks everyone for coming and bringing a fall dish to share!
I didn't get any pictures. But I wish I would have a got a shot of all of the kids playing in my living room. Too cute! The kids certainly had fun! And Jerm got all of the stickers up off the floor without a problem.

Pumpkin Farm part 3

So the final pumpkin place we visited and ultimately bought our pumpkins was just a place down the street. We got our mums and outside decorations there too. I can't remember the name of it. They only have the family fun activites on the week-ends so we missed out on that, but Sadie thought the gravel driveway was the coolest thing ever, and there was a cat. She loves cats. Poor thing will never get to have a cat as a child. Jeremy is highly allergic to cats. But she is not deprived, Michelle the sitter has a cat.

Pumpkin Farm part 2

So last Monday, I played hooky from my clinicals (it didn't start out that way, I had every intention of going to clinicals, I had even packed my clothes to change into, arranged to drop off Sadie at the airport when Jerm got off work) but it was too nice of a day and we were having too much fun! My co-worker Vicki invited me to go with her and her family (she has a grandson Wade that is a few days younger than Sadie) to Kingsway pumpkin farm in Hartville. I grew up in Brimfield/Suffield and never had been there. Super fun for Sadie! Her favorites, the coloring barn where you can color on the walls. The corn pit, where you can slide into corn, and most of all the baby cows. She loves to mooooooo. Ohh and Vicki made chicken nuggets. She loved them! What didn't she like? The kiddie train. She wouldn't stay seated and wanted to come out. There wasn't any straps/seatbelts so I couldn't leave her in there to see if she would like it. What didn't I like? I wasn't a fan of the ponies. One of the ponies got a hold of my pinkie finger and wouldn't let go. I am not going to lie, it hurt. I wish I would have a gotten video of the kids walking past the geese. They were super loud and the when Sadie saw the other kids holding their hands over their ears she started doing it.

Pumpkin Farm part 1

We visited Ramseyer Farms a couple of week-ends back. I got a vns from work, the entire 12 hour shift. (Our census was low, so you are on call for 6 hours and then if they still don't need you, you get the rest of the day off. So we headed to Smithville. We had to wait for Jeremy to get off work, didn't have much time by the time we drove out there, so we just visited the pumpkin patch, didn't get to go to where all the fun stuff was. But Sadie had fun, she had to hug all of the pumpkins. That place is really neat! We plan on going back next year and planning on a day of it.

On the way home, we stopped by The Barn's amazing toy store. The Barn restaurant is right down the street.

Sadie still goes every week to the Barbetton YMCA for swim lessons, and still loves it. Her latest thing is climbing the ladder of the pool so she can jump in the pool.

Sadie's First Trip to the Dentist

Sadie started off well, she enjoyed sitting in the big chair and looking up at the fishes on the ceiling but when the dental assistant went to brush Sadie's teeth, she wasn't happy. Her crying allowed the dentist to get a great look of all of her teeth though. She loved picking a toy from the treasure chest, in fact she kept going back and ended up with more than one toy. Note Sadie is wearing her Barberton Beads she got from the Cherry Blossom Parade. She has to wear them everywhere!

Fall Photo Shoot at Heritage Farms

So the weather was sunny and hot!!! Great for an outdoor photo shoot, bad for a mom who bought the "photo shoot outfits" with cool fall weather in mind. I bought sweaters for Jerm and I and turtlenecks, long sleeve shirts and sweaters for Sadie. We even made this adorable camo hoodie with a princess emblem on it, to match her wee squeak pink camo shoes. She wanted nothing to do with multiple layers. Who could blame her. The outfits were cute in layers, not so cute by themselves. But Sadie is always cute so...Oh well. I just didn't have time to go shopping for different clothes. So Sadie didn't have that much fun at the photo shoot. The family shots were disappointing but I am sure Sadie didn't want to be wearing a sweater (neither did Jerm or I for that point) and I am sure she didn't want to be sitting on warm parents. So no smiles. I am shocked Barb got any good shots. But she did! Check them out!

OMG. So our friends Jenny and Rachel invited us to go with them to the Yo Gabba Gabba concert at the Akron Civic theatre, we have had the tickets for months. Last week was the concert. So I have been playing Yo Gabba Gabba on netflicks for Sadie, these last couple months getting her ready for the concert. Overall she loves the intro, she will smile, laugh, clap and dance until the singing stops and then gets disinterested and will turn away and play with her toys only to look up if the singing starts again. Sometimes at night before bed as she sips her milk, she might watch more, (she has a longer attention span for tv and books when she is tired, baffling to me, but longer none the less). So I didn't know what to expect at the concert. For starters Sadie and Collin are the cutest children ever! Collin got a Brody backpack that he clutched the entire time of the concert. And Sadie got a Foofa doll that she held onto almost the entire concert. On a side note I ordered a super cheap foofa iron on and created a shirt for Sadie, and then I ordered a Foofa bow off of Etsy but it didn't come in the mail until two days after the concert. Bummer. It was such a cute bow too, which made it an even bigger bummer. I wished it was ugly after it came so then I wouldn't have wanted my chiild to have worn it. Oh well, taking a picture of it, for my blog makes me feel better. She can wear it at the next concert. Because there will be a next concert. Sadie LOVED it. I could not believe it held her attention for the entire 1.5 hours. I must admit it was kinda of cool. It was a rock concert for babies. You can see the moms and dads dancing to the music with their kids. I still think back on that night and how much fun it was to watch my child be completely entertained. It just makes me realize how big she is getting. Sadie's 15 month check-up was the following day after the concert. She impressed Dr Miller with how many words she can say. And she cracked the nurse up, as the nurse was leaving the room Sadie waved to her and said "bye".She impresses me with her ability to point to the object or animal that we ask her to point to. She loves the flashcards I got her, and I love being the "teacher". We have school nightly, on my days off. Fun Fun!

Eating with a spoon

So Sadie started wanting to eat with a spoon a few weeks ago.Sadie imitates everything! So it was only a matter of time that she would insist on feeding herself with a spoon. But as a busy mom, it is so much faster and less messy to feed them yourself or give them finger foods that aren't messy. I must admit I am guilty of this if we are on a time schedule. But on days like in the video, have at it Sadsters! I love it when she puts something (like a blueberry on the spoon and then puts it in her mouth, double work if you ask me). FYI mashed potatoes are a great food to practice with, they don't fall off the spoon easily. Too funny her gagging at pumpkin...pumpkin pie no less.

We didn't make it to the Randolph fair this year that is the fair I grew up with but we did go the Wayne County Fair. Sadie loves cows...everything is a cow or more recently everything is a cow or a duck. She makes the quack sound and the moooooing sound. What is really funny is when she points to the dogs and says "dog" and then follows that up with a moooooooo. Don't worry I ordered some baby flashcards, we will practice with her when they come in the mail. Hahahah. Anyway Sadie loved loved the cows at the fair, and the miniature horses, more surprisingly she loves gyros. She had to wave hello and good-bye to every cow.

Little Italy

I had to go up to Wade Park VA hospital in Cleveland to renew my ID badge for the VA, so Jerm and Sadie came with me. We stopped by Little Italy for gelato and cannoli. Best cannoli ever! We went to the playground in Little Italy and that inspired us to stop by Preston's H.O.P.E. playground park at the Jewish Community center. That place is Amazing!!! We had been there before but never when Sadie could walk.

Life has Become School

I so should not even be writing this right now, but I am procrastinating typing a paper. School is back in session and has again taken over my life. Eat.Sleep.Work.School. I have thrown Teach in there. I accepted an adjunct psychiatric nurse clinical faculty position with Stark State College about a month ago. And my clinical site is Barberton 4North, so I get to see everybody I used to work with. I really enjoy my students and it is such a great thing to catch up with everyone. I am back at the Canton VA for my masters clinicals which is alot of group therapy, which I am really enjoying. I counted my ID badges...one for Stark State, one for the VA, one for Summa. It is all about juggling. I can't wait to see the new Sarah Jessica Parker movie "I don't know how she does it".

Sadie's Flower Girl Dress

Sadie and I got to go with Michelle to see the wedding dress she picked, and see the flower girl dress she picked. Sadie's dress matches Michelle's dress. Michelle even tried the dress on one more time (and we got to see) before buying it. Michelle looks amazing! I LOVE the veil she picked. The flower girl dress was even the one on the mannequin. I love weddings! They got their save the dates done. Sadie will be sooooo cute! I can't wait! But I will have to. Their date is set for September 8th 2012. Thanks Michelle for the sneak peak!

Scraped Knees and Broken Arms

I want to buy baby knee pads! Sadie keeps skinning her knees over and over. They are never going to heal. I went to the store tonight and stocked up on band aids, foaming neosporin cleaning spray, spray analgesic, melauca balm/triple antibiotic ointment, saline wipes....need I go on. So we now have a scraped knee regimen. Sadie gets it naturally (the clutsy side/frequent injurious behavior). Jerm broke his arm tonight. I was driving home from getting my faculty ID badge from Stark State (more about that later) and I called Jerm and said "Let's get a run in tonight before Sadie's bedtime" (I completed a health survey at work to attempt to reduce my healthcare insurance premiums and was weighed, had blood drawn, blood pressure taken) which has encouraged me to work out more frequently. Make the time for me to get it in. So normally when we run together, I push the stroller and Jerm takes a dog. Tonight Jerm picked Grace. He was crossing the road and she stopped, he stepped on her, and so that he wouldn't crush her, he threw his body weight away from her, causing him to fall on his arm. He went to the ER to get an x-ray. Its broken. He is in so much pain. Poor Sadie and Jeremy. I don't have a picture of Jerm in his sling, he has gone to bed already.

Jesse turned 1 in Monday. And Danielle and Scott had his party in Ohio on Sunday. At Plum Creek Park in Kent. It was really nice! The food was awesome (including my cake pops). Sadie enjoyed some corn on the cobb. Dale was totally freaked out by all of the kids that were there! (There were a lot of kids running around). Jesse did great eating his smash cake. He got it all over, all over danielle too. He was giving her kisses and covered her with cake. Too cute!

So I made cake pops for Sadie's birthday party, Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My! I wanted to make cake pops for Jesse's first birthday party. The party was at Plum Creek Park in Kent. (Memories. I used to study there when the weather was nice in undergrad). So I decided....a creek= frog cake pops. You use white candy necklace pieces for the eyes and strips of red sugary coated sour twists for the lips. Cake pops are alot of work, but they turned out really cute!

Grad Party

So Jerm got his grades, he officially graduated with his Masters in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Homeland Security Administration. Yay! This summer wasn't much of a summer for him. We celebrated by drinking some wine and sangrias at Gervasi Winery in Canton (aka doesn't feel like Canton, more like California). It is beautiful there. Thanks to everyone who came! I am glad the weather was 80 and sunny. Thank you again Megan for making Sadie's dress. I wanted Sadie to wear some Tiffin Dragon gear but when I went to the Tiffin bookstore all they had was a youth small t-shirt. So I bought it and Megan turned it into a dress. What a great afternoon. Even Sadie's Tiffin giraffe had a good time. Sadie as you can see eventually melted down without an afternoon nap.

Dayton Trip!

Dayton was so much fun! It was a really good quick vacation. We headed down to Dayton on Monday. We met my Dad and Aunt Marie in Columbus for dinner and stayed the night at my Aunt Marie's house Monday night. We got Sadie some new shoes. Love Stride Rite. BOGO sale going on now until September 6th I think. (Jerm thinks its bad advertising because it is only buy one get one half off). I say atleast its a discount. Stride Rite is my favorite place to shop lately (I know that is sad, but their shoes are so cute and so very well constructed to support little growing feet,hahahah). Anyway on with the trip. We headed to Steve's house to hang out with him and Jovie. April was at work. We missed you April. His daughter is 7 weeks old. OMG is she cute. Steve took us to the metro park by his house. Can I just say we were impressed, really impressed by the metro parks in the Dayton area. We went to 3 and they were all awesome! So Steve's metro park had a butterfly house that was beautiful and there was a dog Zip there that was a working dog. Sadie hugged him and then later I read the sign that said do not disturb Zip. There was a shrub maze. Can you find Sadie? And Sadie drank out of a drinking fountain for the first time. I had Steve take a picture of that. We then all went to the metro park I had found online that has a children's garden. Really amazing place. We left Steve and headed to our hotel. Checked in, met up with my Dad and then we all met back up with Steve for Dinner. It was great to catch up with Steve. Alot of great memories from high school! Thanks for having us for a visit! We want to come back!

So after we left Steve, we headed back to the hotel for some swimming in the pool. Wednesday, we checked out a huge Gander Mt store on the same exit and then we went to another metro park, that Jerm had found. We had time to kill. That metro park had a farm with horses, and chickens, cows, baby piglets and lambs. Sadie loves cows. When you say "Sadie what does a cow say?" Sadie makes a mooooing sound. Now she doesn't discriminate she also was mooing at the deer on the wall at Lonestar the night before. All of these metro parks were free! Go Dayton! So we were waiting for our personal tour of the Air Force Museum. Back in May, Jerm and I went to my co-worker Kris's daughter's wedding and we sat next to the director of the museum. He was a 3 star general. Jerm was in awe. He invited us down to give us a tour. I wrote him an email last week asking him if he was available and he scheduled us from 1pm to 2:30pm. He even reserved us a parking space in the VIP area. Of course I took a picture. So the timing I thought was good. Sadie got a nap in before was got there. But she didn't last long on the tour, there is no food allowed in the museum except in the cafe. She lasted 15 minutes before I had to go feed her lunch. But my dad and Jerm got the complete tour. That place is amazing! I had no idea it was so big. And that place is free too. Their gift shop is awesome. I picked up some great gifts for Jesse. He turns 1 on Monday and is party is today. So after the tour we dropped my dad off at his van and headed back to home. We made a pit stop back at my Aunt Marie's house for dinner and of course visited another Stride Rite store to see their selection. I love the Columbus mall(s). We got home late. But as we talked in the caride home, we decided we had had a GREAT trip! Sorry for the long post.

Chris & Sam's Baby Shower

My cousin Chris and his wife Samantha are expecting their first baby, a boy! Their shower was over the week-end. So Sadie and I packed up and headed back to the ranch. It has been awesome, now that I don't work every other week-end (every third now) I can do stuff, mostly just with Sadie because Jerm works every week-end. I have been at the ranch more week-ends in August than at my house. Good thing Sadie is cute or they would be sick of us. Just kidding, they love me too. Here are some pics at the ranch and of the shower. Sadie was checking out the pack'n'play. I think she was jealous. It was nice! Best part of the shower were these amazing cupcakes. They had an oreo on the bottom of them and filling in the middle that tasted like the middle of an oreo. Yum.

Good-Bye Little Gym

Sadie's last Little Gym was last week. It def made me sad. We aren't enrolling her in the next session. Partially because it is just too far away, it takes too long to get her there and home, with my crazy school schedule I can't spend it in the car. Ughhghghg Yes. I start back to school next week. My life will end as I know it (spending tons of amazing time with Sadie). I will forever be grateful for making that decision to switch jobs. I had so much time this summer to spend with her. And LOVED every minute of it! The other part is that reducing my hours = reducing my income= not enough income to enroll Sadie in Little Gym. We are going to try the gymnastics program at the YMCA in North Canton by Jerm's work. He will take her to most of them, since he is now done with grad school (I am sooo envious, but as he tells me, I had a summer). Jerm's niece Abby goes there. And Terry and Katie Steiner work there. So it should be fun! I will miss seeing Karmen and Grace every week. Good-Bye Little Gym! We will miss you! Maybe we can come back to you after I graduate in May.

Brianna and Evan came to town! Jerm's brother and niece. Brianna says the funniest things. I love talking to her. I asked her about school:
Me: "So are you excited to start back to school?"

So I went to shower and left Sadie in her room playing with her toys. I thought that I had picked up the wipes off of the floor from when I changed her, I guess not. I got out of the shower and peeked in on her. She was carefully pulling out each individual wipe one at a time and placing them around her room. All 80 of them. She was concentrating pretty hard. I found it hysterical. It was the best $3 (on sale) babysitter ever. I got ready and dressed and checked my email without a meltdown. She also found her stash of swim diapers too. I had to take a picture of the end result.

Painting with Pudding and Edible Play-dough

So Sadie and Collin hang out together. Jenny and I plan their play dates. We decided on a pizza party (Jenny made yummy appetizers, which I could show you pictures of if and when they start posting on their food blog). Jenny made the pudding for the kids to finger paint with and I found a recipe for peanut butter play-dough. I found it to be yummy, Sadie did her gagging thing that she does, and Collin he was content with the pudding paint. Jenny and Rachel's dogs liked it though. Too cute, at the end Sadie and Collin swapped sippy cups. We can't wait for more play-dates in their finished basement playroom that they are working on. It is going to be every child's dream. Rachel I say go for the toddler rock climbing wall!

Recipe for the edible peanut butter play dough: Roughly 16oz peanut butter (we used Mustard Seed's home made organic peanut butter in the fridge section) 3/4 cup powdered milk, and 6 Tablespoons honey. I added raw wheat germ to make it healthier. I say roughly because I added a little more of each ingredient to make the right texture.

Week-end Playdate at the Ranch

We invited the Endresses with us to the ranch. It was like a weekend playdaye for the girls. And it was just a lot of fun to hang out with Karmen and Thad. My aunt took us to her friend's house that has a goat farm. I have never seen that many goats ever.They remind me of dogs. They were really friendly. Karmen and Thad got a tour of the place. We relaxed and got spoiled by my aunt. And we showed them the really nice swim park nearby. The girls were exhausted on the car ride home. Sadie never sleeps when we go out there, so she crashes for a couple of days afterwards. Thanks aunt Rita for spoiling us and thanks Karmen & Thad for making the trip! We plan on doing it again when the weather cools off & the horsefllies get lost so we can ride the horses. Oh and Sadie LOVED her first rides on a ATV and four-wheeler. She would not stop smiling. Children's Museaum of Cleveland

Sadie had the best day a kid could have yesterday. And so did I! Sadie, my dad and I headed up to the children's museum of Cleveland. It wasn't much to see on the outside but Sadie had a great time when we got inside. It is designed for kids 1 and up. We headed home via Little Italy (I had never been before). Was going to stop at the Jewish Community Center of Cleveland because they have an awesome playground/kids village, but Sadie fell asleep. So we stopped by the White Flower Cake Shoppe (since we were all the way up there). And we ate at the Cheesecake Factory. Thanks Dad! We made it in time for Little Gym and then stopped by the Akron Zoo for members night on the way home for free ice cream sandwiches and free carousel rides. What a day!

Vacation at the Ranch

I had a bunch of days off in a row so I packed up Sadie and headed to the ranch. I feel bad Jeremy had to work but somebody has to. It was awesome to spend time with my family. My cousins were at grandma camp so I got to see both of them and my Aunt Melanie came in for sister camp so I got to see her. Sadie loved the ranch. She loved the tv remotes (there are several within reach) and my aunt rita calls the empty paper towel roll a tooter and gives it to her dogs after making noise with it. Sadie loved that and made us all do it. She is walking (and falling) all over the place. She got to pet the horses and the new kittens. She loved watching the cows. I brought her push car so we walked down to my Grandma's house (down the road) and to get the mail (they have a long drive-way). And they opened a brand new swim park in Clyde that I had never been to. That was fun! Thanks for everything Aunt Rita! Especially your meatloaf!

Canada Eh!

So Sadie and I went on a roadtrip with Jeremy's family last week. Jeremy stayed home. He is very frugal with his vacation days. I am not sure what he is saving them for. Jerm's mom drove Lyndsay (his sister), Abigail (his neice) Sadie & I to Buffalo New York Wednesday night after I got off work. We stayed in a hotel (with air conditioning, you will understand that important detail later). We got up the next morning and dropped off Lyndsay to get her same day passport. We went to the Buffalo Zoo because we couldn't pick up the passport until 3pm. The zoo was pretty neat. We then began the long drive up to Erinsville Ontario. We ran into Toronto traffic so it was a long drive. We did stop at service station and Sadie had Starbucks. Starbucks was the only place that had whole milk for her night time bottle and we weren't close enough to the cabin at that point. Starbucks even steamed it for her. She loved it! I have never seen her drink a bottle so fast. We got to the cabin and it was a record high of over 100 degrees. The cabin doesn't have air conditioning. I didn't know that. Imagine a closed up car in 100 degree weather. Yup that is what it felt like. I wanted to take Sadie and sleep in the car with the air on. (The other days we did end up driving Sadie around in the air conditioning so she could drink her bottles and fall asleep). She basically was in a diaper the entire time. It did get cold around 2am until about 10am. So there was a break from the heat. Anyway Jerm's stepdad Mark and his mom Shirly were all ready at the cabin. The cabin sits on a lake. It was beautiful! We went swimming and played in the sand. Sadie is in the phase where she wants to put everything in her mouth. We had to stop playing in the sand because she was eating the sand and the rocks. Yuck! Mark and Abby went fishing.It was Abby's first time and she caught like 20 fish. She did great! We went and got ice cream. They had Rollo ice cream. It was yummy. And bought weird potato chip flavors like roasted chicken and onion rings with ketchup. Those weren't as yummy. The drive back Sunday went pretty fast, no Toronto traffic and Sadie slept a lot of it. Prob from lack of sleep due to the heat and because she walked everywhere. We made it back into the states after Sadie stared down the Border Protection guy. Hey if you don't smile at my daughter,she won't smile at you. I laughed outloud. Thanks Megan and Mark for having us. Mark and his family have been going to that cabin for 53 years.

Look Out World Sadie is Walking

On her own, more than a few steps. Take a look! My dad came over for dinner tonight and he got to witness the Sadsters stand and walk on her own, without the wall or the furniture, or our help. Must have been all of the walking in the pool today that made her strong. All three of us could have watched her all night long walking back and forth from the cottage to the kitchen. It really was impressive to watch her learn to walk. Amazing.

I had never seen a women get baptized in a yellow polka dot bikini before.

Sadie & Collin have been hanging out a lot this past week. They went to the zoo together, had a play date at Collin's house. Went swimming at Kim Tam together followed by a BBQ at the Hendrickson's house. And today went to Wild Water Kingdom together. Which was Awesome!!! Collin is the sweetest boy. He lets Sadie hug him. Its precious. Now don't go thinking this kid isn't all boy. Because he is on the move and into everything! Mr I am 14 months going on 4 years. He even went down the water slide at the water park. Sadie was content to walk through the water. There were parts that were 1-2 feet deep and Sadie loved walking through it up to her chin. I am loving my new job and all the days I have off. 12 hour shifts rock!!! I will be sad when I go back to school in the Fall and Jenny goes back to teaching and school in the Fall. We can keep pretending for another month that we are stay at home moms.

Also Jenny and Rachel are starting a food blog. I will link there blog to my site when they have it up and running. Trust me, they make the yummiest healthiest, homemade food ever! And the stuff they come up with for Collin, that I have tried for Sadie is awesome. The latest thing I have tried for Sadie...Take 2 graham crackers and put yogurt in the middle. Freeze them. And you have got a frozen yogurt graham cracker sandwich. Great for the summer! Thanks for the pictures Jenny & Rachel.

We took Jerm's brother nate with us again, to Dogwood Pool in North Canton. Jerm's sister and neice were supposed to meet us there, but Abby had a temp of 103 and so they didn't go. But we had fun! Thanks Lyndsay for letting us use your summer pass. Oh and a side note. Sadie is grape monger and she likes to beat Jerm with her duck!

Sadie loves to be pushed around in this car! She could be pushed around in this car all day long if I had the energy and desire to. And she really loves when you let her roll down our driveway on her own in it. Sadie got a new bike helmet, for when we bike the towpath. We are trying to get her used to it. She likes to take the helemt off, not wear it. Thanks again Kris for her car!!!

So Jerm ran the North Canton 5 miler with Sadie in the BOB on the fourth of July, Sadie was very serious the entire time. Sadie got a bracelet for finishing. Lyndsay Jermey's sister took pictures, the race route goes right past her house. Sadie had multiple festive outfits over the July 4th week-end,I still don't have the pictures Lyndsay took of Sadie in her red white and blue dress. Lyndsay watched Sadie on the fourth because I started my new job on the fourth. That was pretty much our Holiday. I really like my new job. The staff are really nice and welcoming. It is so different from my old job, even though it is still psych. I LOVE LOVE LOVE 12 hour shifts, I have so many days off now! I feel like I am on vacation. I am adjusting to dayshift better than I thought I would. Overall, so far so good.

Jerm's Boss's Wedding

Sam, Jerm's boss got married Sunday. It was the shortest cermeony I have ever been to. We were impressed. Julie looked beautiful. The reception was fun. We sat at the Akron Canton table. Go table 26!James and his wife Stephanie are always a lot of fun. It was a nice night out. That seems to be our dates lately (weddings). Loved the groom's cake! It had Just Married written in the sand at the bottom of the cake.Adorable!

So Sadie took her first steps yesterday! She didn't walk to Mom or to Dad. She walked to... Neil. Fuddy Dudd Neil. And he pushed her down. Here is Neil and Sadie having breakfast together. As long as Sadie didn't touch him, look at him, touch any of the toys he was playing with, or make any movement toward him, Neil was fine.

Well Sadie quickly caught on, so she was constantly trying to hug Neil and grab his shirt and play with his toys. Which made Neil cry. I started calling Neil Fuddy Dudd. Not to his face. Hahahah. Sadie would crawl toward Neil and he would run away crying. I am not sure what about Sadie was so scary. Neil is twice her size and he can walk/ run away from her. So of all people Sadie took her first steps unassisted to, it had to be Fuddy Dudd Neil. Oh and did I mention Neil bit Sadie earlier in the week too. Yup he bit my child. Neil's mom said Neil has never been in daycare or been around kids his age. I couldn't have guessed. Well thanks Neil for motivating my daughter to walk to you.

Jerm's sister Lyndsay was the director of her church's vacation bible school. She recruited me to watch the nursery. Which was great because Sadie was with me! Jerm did the days that I had to work. So we only had one other kid. His name was Neil. So it was Sadie and Neil all week long.Sadie liked Neil. Neil didn't exactly like Sadie.

Sadie's Party at the Zoo

We had Sadie's first birthday party at the Akron Zoo last Saturday. It was a giraffe theme of course. It was such a busy, special, and fun day. The weather was good. It didn't rain. She did awesome on only two 15 minute naps the entire day. There weren't a lot of Sadie smiles. I think she was overwhelmed with all of the people, but there weren't many cries either. She did a good job with her smash cake, getting it all over the place. It was great to have her surrounded by that many friends and family. There were over 100 people celebrating with us! Thanks everyone for coming. We hope you enjoyed the zoo. We forgot to hand out Sadie's biggest fan award to Miss Emma Lerch, age 4. Emma had Sadie's birth announcement, Christmas card, and birthday invite taped to her bedroom door, and was really excited to come to the party. I will have to mail Emma her prize. The only downsides of the day, I didn't get Sadie's toenails painted (I had bright blue polish that matched her dress, she squirmed too much in her sleep and I waited to the last minute), we were late (per usual fashion), and Sadie puked up the blue and green frosting in her crib during the night.

Birthday Girl

Photo shoot of Sadie on the chair by dad this time. I had orientation today and asked Jerm to take a few pics of Sadie in the chair in her nursery. This is the last photo shoot of Sadie on the chair every month. My "first 12 month" photo frame will be full now. I can't believe she is one years old today! I sent Sadie to daycare at Michelle's today with a birthday treat for the kids and the camera and asked her to take some pics. Piper is standing next to Sadie in the highchair. Sadie worships Piper, and I think the feeling is mutual. Sadie is constantly hugging Piper at daycare. And Piper came to her birthday party at the zoo and Sadie was huggin her there too. I got out of orientation early today so I stopped by Leach's Bakery and got a small birthday cake so that Jerm and I could eat some cake. We didn't get any on Saturday at her party. And we realized we never sang to her the Happy Birthday song. What kind of parents are we? Well we sang to her tonight. Sadie had Little Gym tonight, so Jerm and I took her and she was the only kid there. Grace is in that class too but the Endress Family is in Florida. So how lucky of a kid was Sadie to have the entire Little Gym to herself. People pay big bucks to rent that place out for their kids' birthdays. Sadie got some extra special activities from her Little Gym instructor. And then we came home sang happy birthday, got some pictures and she went to bed. She is no longer staying up until 11:30pm (that is what time I used to come home from work). She is ready for bed by 8:30pm and sleeps until 8:30am. So we don't have as much time to do fun stuff, but it is better for her, she is getting good uninterrupted sleep, and we are getting more things accomplished and with this new dayshift job I am able to get sleep. She is furniture walking like crazy, and getting more daring. She will be walking soon! Happy First Birthday Sadie!

Good-Byes are Hard

So during finals week, circumstances arose that gave me a push to apply for a new job/transfer to a new job. I was stressed out being overwhelmed with school work and clinical hours, and not spending enough time with Sadie and Jeremy. My life felt and my house reflected disorganization. I felt like I was doing so many things and not doing them well. My body needed sleep and I needed more time with my family. I felt the only way I was going to get through my last year of my Master's program was to reduce my work hours. I have an awesome husband who supports me in whatever I do.So a part-time,dayshift (2) 12 hour/week, position posted within Summa at St Thomas Hospital on their step-down psychiatric unit, the very day I felt that push to make a change. I applied, had an interview, and was hired in less than a week. It happened fast and this past month has gone by fast. My last day here at Barberton is tomorrow. It happened so fast that I have not really had the opportunity to think about it, until today. My co-workers who are amazing, and my nursing shift supervisor who is also amazing met Jeremy, Sadie and I at Gervasi Winery in Canton for lunch. As I wrote out thank you cards to them, I realized what an amazing support system they have been for me the last 6 years, fresh out of nursing school, my first nursing job. They were with me every step of planning my wedding, my baby shower and Sadie's first birthday party. They listened to every detail, I mean every detail. I cannot express enough how great the women I work with are. So today was hard. Tomorrow will be hard. I hopefully will be able to pick up shifts at Barberton once I am off full-time orientation at St Thomas. But that is uncertain at this point. I do know for certain we will be holding catch-up sessions at the Gervasi Winery. That place is straight out of a really amazing book. I want to go back and sit with my co-workers and drink a pitcher of Sangrias. Thank you for the past 6 years 3-11 shift. I will miss seeing you every day!

I got a VNS from work yesterday. So we went on a family bike ride. Thanks Aunt Melanie and Uncle Jim for the awesome Bike Seat/Carrier for Sadie. We went to the State park by our house and had lunch. Sadie played in the sand. We didn't have a swim diaper/swimsuit with us to play in the lake. Then we came home and played in the baby pool. We then started the giant task of cleaning out the garage.

Little Gym Graduation

Today was the last day of the regular season of Little Gym. They had a little medal ceremony after the class. Parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, and friends were invited. Sadie with her teacher Ashley. Yes Sadie is pulling that other girl's medal off of her. My dad came. He got her a graduation card. We went for ice cream afterwards. Sadie had frozen strawberry yogurt! Yum! Too cute. Sadie will be in the next class up starting in the summer session. The Birds class. She is no longer a "bug". She will be with Grace and the bigger kids. Sadie and Grace were the older kids in the Bugs class. In the birds class they will be the youngest. The pictures aren't the best. I am missing my camera and had to try and use Jerm's camera.

A Tire did what?

So I was driving down route 8 southbound in the fast lane. Sadie was in the backseat. All of a sudden, a tire flew across the barrier and struck the right front corner of our Pilot. Bouncing off the pilot and taking a chunk of my SUV with it. I have been fighting the tire owner's insurance company ever since. The police were able to find the owner of the tire,who was driving northbound on route 8 (the van didn't go far on three tires) and thank goodness they had insurance. Because the estimate from this morning said over $3000. The SUV is not drivable. But they are dragging their feet, claiming they are still waiting for the police report and they still haven't been able to get the driver of the other vehicle (who they insure) on the phone for their statement. This happened last Tuesday. Today, in one hour I did what "my claims adjuster" couldn't do in one week. I drove to the police department obtained a copy of the police report, faxed it to the claims adjuster, called up the lady that lost her tire that my vehicle found, and gave her the adjustor's name and phone number, so she could call and give her statement. If you can't sense my sarcasm and displeasure toward "my claims adjuster", believe me, its there. So I am sure "my claims adjuster" will make up another excuse the next time I call to find out the status of approving the repairs, but at least I wasted my entire morning on my day off work and had to send Sadie to the sitter so that I could waste my entire morning on my day off to learn that I don't like Nationwide. Thank you for allowing me to vent. In all. I am frustrated now and terribly inconvenienced, but I thank my lucky stars that Sadie and I weren't injured.

Josh Groban

Jerm got me Josh Groban tickets for our 3rd wedding anniversary. The concert was Saturday night. It was a great show. Who knew Josh Groban was a comedian. He was pretty funny and interacted with the crowd a lot. His voice is amazing! We were 10 min late for the 8pm show and I think Jerm has had thoughts of why did I marry her? (I am always late, and having an almost one year old doesn't help that). But Josh didn't go on until 9pm, so we are still married! On a side note, don't we look a like?

Allman's Wedding

This past week-end was non-stop. We left Friday to go to the ranch so my Aunt Rita could watch Sadie while Jerm and I went to his friend Andrew's wedding. Andrew filled in as a groomsmen at the last minute at our wedding. Sadie had a blast crawling all around and playing in the dogs' water bowel (we washed it out, filled it up with new water and let her play outside in it since that is all she wanted to do when it was inside on the floor) My grandma, Jerm, Uncle Keith and Aunt Rita all sat oustide on the deck and watched her. The wedding was in Ada, so it was only an hour from my aunt's house. I had never been there, the Ohio Northern Campus is beautiful! The wedding was really nice, hot, but nice. We couldn't stay for the reception. I know Jerm was bummed about that but we got the invite the same day our tickets for Josh Groban came in the mail. We drove back, had dinner (my aunt's meatloaf is my fav, and she spoils me) Sadie loves meatloaf now too.We picked up Sadie and then drove to Dan and Michelle's house, dropped Sadie off there and drove to Cleveland for the Josh Groban concert. We were runing late, so we didn't have much time to settle Sadie in at Dan and Michelle's. She wasn't too happy we left her. I believe Dan said the neighbors prob thought she was being abused. Thanks to everyone that watched the Sadsters so that her parents could drive all over the State of Ohio.

Shanna Visit

Shanna was in town last weekend and Sadie and I tagged along on her and her family's visit with her grandma. I haven't seen Shanna's gram for a while. She didn't know me but she liked seeing Sadie and Shanna told her that Sadie was mine but I don't think she correlated the two. Still it was nice to spend time there. And it was great to see Shanna and catch up.

Farmland Opened at the Akron Zoo

My dad came with along with Sadie and I to the Akron Zoo on the opening day of Farmland. It is a really cute petting zoo area and the new train is located there. Sadie didn't ride the train that day but she did ride the carousel and will ride the train at her birthday party. I love the Akron Zoo. Like in Goldilocks and the three bears, the Akron Zoo is just the right size!

Sadie is 11 months. I am a little late on this post. A week before she turned 11 months she weaned herself of nursing. And she takes a bottle now and loves it! While most kids are having the bottle taken away she is just loving it. I am a little sad but I do love to cuddle her when she is having a bottle. And she just looks so cute holding it. She is getting so tall and she is into furniture walking now. She can make it around her nursery and our bedroom holding onto furniture. She says Hi all the time now and "this" and points. Soon she won't be a baby anymore but a toddler. You can tell she is a mover and a stander now as she won't sit still on the chair anymore.
